Health Access and Community Wellbeing

Health Access and Community Wellbeing

Harmony Revival Network (HRN) is committed to strengthening community health systems and improving access to essential health services in conflict-affected and underserved areas of Nigeria. Our health focus centers on Primary Health Care (PHC), health security, hygiene promotion, and inclusive health advocacy—especially for women, youth, and displaced populations.

Approach:

Rooted in our people-first philosophy, HRN works directly with communities to understand local health challenges and co-design solutions that are culturally relevant, sustainable, and community-owned. Whether responding to emergencies or advocating for long-term health investment, we prioritize local participation and resilience.

Key Activities:

  1. Emergency Health Response
    • Deployment of community nurses in times of crisis
    • Health education and hygiene promotion
    • Distribution of hygiene kits and maternal care materials
  2. Community Health Education
    • Radio and in-person outreach on disease prevention and PHC utilization
    • Local language health messaging for non-literate populations
  3. Health Budget Advocacy (Upcoming Focus)
    • Community input on local health budget priorities
    • Tracking resource allocation and promoting transparency in health spending
  4. Partnerships with PHCs and Local Authorities
    • Supporting frontline health workers with tools and coordination
    • Bridging communities and service providers for better trust and uptake

Why Health Matters to HRN:

In regions like Borno, where public health systems are overstretched and fragile, HRN believes that peace and wellbeing are inseparable. By strengthening access to health services and amplifying the voices of the underserved, HRN contributes to a more resilient and just society.
